They find shelter as well as safety from their predators. They find their food sources in garbage cans or pet food tins. The cottonmouth, also known as a water moccasin or water pit viper, is the only kind of viper that can live in the water. BAT BEHAVIOR: Bats are nocturnal. You should also ensure that all the accesses to your home have been properly sealed and remove food from their environment. As far as potency of venom goes, that's the Coral snake - but that's a rare and docile snake. If such harborage is removed, snakes will relocate. Once they do, they lash out and inject their venom into the victim, waiting for it to become incapacitated before they start to eat it. • Diseases Squirrels Can Transmit to Humans

Though less than 1% of bats carry the rabies virus and transmit it, it is difficult to say if a colony of bats that is residing in the house has it or not. Most venomous species also have elliptical-shaped pupils as opposed to the round pupils found in other snakes. All snakes should be treated with respect and left alone regardless of venom. The bites of venomous snakes, however, can be lethal if not treated immediately. There are four different kinds of toxins that a snake can inject into its victim, including neurotoxins, cardiotoxins, hemotoxins, and cytotoxins. When a cottonmouth injects its venom into the victim the venom begins to eat away at the area where the bite occurred. Though in very few cases symptoms are seen immediately, in many instances it is not recognizable for even months. These cases usually result in death. Some times raccoon repellents especially naphthalene or moth balls are used. This classification is due to the fact it replicates in the nerve tissues and then infects the brain. When not in use, the fangs fold back onto the mouth. A large colony is not only noisy and unsettling at dusk and dawn as swarms of bats fly in and out, but the main problem is that they leave their droppings and urine behind. The radio does not have to be necessarily loud, you could start with a low volume and if you do not succeed in flushing them out, you should try increasing the volume and leave the radio on day and night. Vipers strike out quickly at people who come too close and startle them or attempt to grab and handle them, injecting venom through needle-like fangs that causes immediate swelling and pain.
